when it rains…it pours!

literally…

…but first some good news…the marathon training is going really well this time around…granted i am only up to 8 miles(10 by saturday), but still it is going smooth!  anyone who is interested, there is still time to do it.

ok…so, i came in the shop a couple weeks ago…and there was water every where…then our computer got a bunch of viruses…and a trojan horse? whatever,  we took it to the geek people, and they have had it for so long now….and now my studio computer has one,  so i can only be on the internet for like a few minutes before it kicks me off( in fact it happened while i was just trying to post. URGH!!!)…then reagan, sweet reagan got the flu….phew(which i have said in the past and will still stand by, that as horrible as this sounds it is so great because she snuggles with me so much more when she is sick.  she is usually always on the go!)

anyway, in a nutt shell the rain story goes….they were re-roofing here at my clever shop.  we were supposed to get rain and they had not finished, so they tarped it, but the tarps blew off.   when i came in the next morning…oh my…YUCK!!!! there was a huge flood!  the photos don’t do it justice, we took these after we had cleaned most of it up…

it is all cleaned up now, i just have to re-paint, re-organize…and get rid of a bunch of stuff.

good news…i have reset for halloween…my favorite holiday! we also got in some of my newest clothing line for fall…it is pretty cute.  check out my face bookaccount for more photos.  i can’t wait to get everything done for the fall release…it is really hard to do as much as i would like now that i am doing all the creative direction for heidi grace designs again…which i love, and is so worth late nights…i am working with colorbok on something really…REALLY cool right now! i can’t wait!

oh yeah…any continuing words of encouragement with whole potty trianing saga would be so well received…i am totally struggling with it, and feel like a bad mom for not being more patient…

also, i would love to hear any ideas for halloween costumes for my darlings, this is probably the last year i will get to say what they go as…

    Hi Heidi, wow things have really been happening for you lately!!! Hope you get the store back to normal soon. Don’t stress about the potty training if she is not ready yet just leave it a while and start afresh soon. She will soon let you know when she is ready. Looking forward to seeing your new designs. Take Care xx

    Heidi! Your shop looks wonderful, I will for sure stop by next time I am in town! About P.T…I put Reesie in panties for 3 solid days, did not go anywhere, and it was messy! She had accidents beyond crazy! But, she is a full pledged toilet girl now! It does take patience and lots of positive attitude! I bought tons of pretty panties, which were very exciting to her! I hope all is well with your fam, you guys look great! Take Care!

    Heidi,

    I understand about the potty trainning. I currently just got my daughter potty trained and she is 5. I was feeling the utlimate low. I couldn’t even talked to other Mom’s, cause I was getting judge pretty harshed. If you want to talk to someone who has been thru it, e-mail me.
    I will tell you how my doctor helped me out.

    Heidi;
    I am so in love with your paper lines….I always look for it first and stock up like mad when it comes in so that I will have enough for cards, projects and friends. I was shocked to here you weren’t with fiskars? anymore and then searched on line to reassured you were not fading away with coming back with a bang!!!!
    I can hardly wait!
    As to the potty-training…after 6 children, 8&under and now being a grandma of 5 my very serious and successful advice is to wait until your child is ready…really ready and it not being a case of peer pressure (for you), or wanting to just getting it done! When a child is ready if there isn’t an underlying problem (as one of my kids had), they will train quickly. If now isnt the time put it on the shelf and wait. PS when you are ready go to a cheap brand of disposible diapers (if you are using disposible), because the expensive ones don’t let the child feel when they are wet so they aren’t uncomfortable…cheap ones let them know.
    My philosophy has been that I’d rather change a diaper than clothes until the child is ready!!!
    Thanks for all the beauty you share with all of us. My last two granddaughters have their albums and “thank-you” cards done in your baby themes…

    PS
    Just read more about your family;
    Our last Grandchild was born end of Aug. on the bathroom floor with the help of the fire department…we took them over an icecream cake. Supervisor said that in 14yrs in his position he had 5 people come back to say thanks…So on behave of our family to you husband;
    Thank You for all that you do, the lives you change, your knowledge, your compassion and sacrifice.
    We appreciate all of you and are grateful for the training and help you give where ever it is needed.

    Hi,

    I heard about your store from one of the customers when she cam into Scrapbook Connection on the Oregon Coast this weekend. It looks very cute, even drenched! I feel a road trip coming on since you are not far from Astoria, OR.

    Heidi,
    Congrats on the marathon training. It takes a lot to accomplish that, let alone everything else in your busy life. No PT advice (no kids). But I do want you to know that I will be attending Scrapfest this weekend and you will be missed. Take care. Renee

    So good to see you’re still plugging away and growing your business! I have long been a fan of your whimsical, happy style!
    Regarding potty-training:when they’re ready-they’re ready! My youngest son was “ready” right before he turned 2. I was in NO hurry to be honest…diapers were pretty easy. 2 weeks of training pants (I really recommend “old school” cotton training pants for several reasons; they really know they are wet-and DO NOT like it AT ALL, environmentally-friendly, and when you’re done with them you can sanitize them and use them for cleaning..sounds gross, but my washer has a “sanitize-sterilze” setting) He had almost zero accidents after only 2 weeks. Cotton training pants can be messy, but pretty fool-proof. Good luck with it, and don’t stress….she won’t go to college in diapers (hopefully ;) ) Cheers!
